Here’s how you can find north on Google Maps on a PC or Mac:
- Top of the Map is North: When you’re viewing a map on Google Maps, the top of the screen always represents north. This means that the bottom is south, the left is west, and the right is east.
- Compass in Street View: If you’re using Street View, you can find a compass icon in the top right corner of the screen. This compass will always point north, so you can use it to orient yourself within the 360-degree view.
Please note that there is no longer a standalone compass icon on Google Maps for desktop. However, the top of the map always represents north.
