If your iPhone has no sound, here are several steps you can follow to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
1. Check Silent Mode
- Toggle the Ring/Silent switch on the left side of your iPhone. If the switch is showing orange, Silent Mode is enabled. Flip it back to Ring Mode.
2. Check Volume Settings
- Increase the volume using the volume buttons on the side of your iPhone. Also, make sure the volume is turned up in settings: go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics, and drag the Ringer and Alerts slider to adjust volume.
3. Disable Do Not Disturb
- Make sure Do Not Disturb is turned off. Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb, and ensure it is disabled, or check in Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of your screen (or up from the bottom on older models).
4. Check Headphone Mode
- Sometimes your iPhone may think it is connected to headphones. Plug in and remove your headphones a few times to try resetting the connection. If you have a Bluetooth device connected, disable Bluetooth from Settings > Bluetooth to see if that restores sound.
5. Restart Your iPhone
- Restarting can resolve many software glitches. Hold down the power button (or volume up + side button on newer models) until the slider appears, then power off and restart.
6. Check Sound Settings for Specific Apps
- Some apps may have their own sound settings. Open the app where the sound is missing and check its settings for volume or mute controls.
7. Reset All Settings
- If the issue persists, you can try resetting all settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t delete your data, but will reset system settings like Wi-Fi passwords and wallpapers.
8. Check for Software Updates
- Ensure your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
9. Clean the Speaker Grilles
- Dust or debris can clog the speaker. Carefully clean the speaker grilles at the bottom of the iPhone using a soft brush.
10. Contact Apple Support
- If none of these steps work, there may be a hardware issue with the speakers. Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for further assistance.
These steps should help resolve most sound issues on your iPhone.
